One day, she decided that her heart was hers alone to meddle with.
She decided that she was not going to let fears overtake her freedom. She decided that from that day on, she was going to do what made her happy rather than doning skins that pleased others. She decided that she would not let it matter to her if her skin was dark or hair too frizzy, if her waist had some flab or if her dress wasn’t proper. She promised this to herself. And then, when she looked into the mirror, her reflection smiled back at her in gratitude. As if thanking her for loving herself the way she is.
